What the job is

You'll run a FedEx Ground delivery route in a company step van — delivering and picking up packages in a set neighborhood. It's honest, active, independent work: you're out of the truck 80–120 times a day, and the route is yours. Full-time and part-time jobs are available.

The morning check-in at the terminal — everybody hears the day's plan before the trucks roll.

Like working on your own? You'll fit right in.

People who enjoy working independently, without a manager looking over their shoulder, really like this job. You're out on your route, managing your day, with support when you need it.

Pay & benefits

You're a known person here

At the big outfits, you're a badge number in a warehouse system. At PHF, the managers who dispatch you every morning know you, your route, and your truck. If something's wrong — with your truck, your route, your paycheck — you don't file a ticket into the void. You tell your manager, and your manager handles it. You're a known person with a voice, not employee #48,291.

The trucks tell you whether we care

You can learn everything about a delivery company from the truck they hand you. Ours are road-legal, actively maintained, and logged — every repair tracked, every truck watched. That means trucks that are safe, legal, and ready for the season — good tires before winter, not promises. And every October we run a winter-driving refresher, so you feel comfortable and confident behind the wheel in every season.

Room to grow

Two terminals, two personalities

Monroe: dense, fast-moving neighborhood routes where the same faces see you every day. Small crew, suburban setting — you own your neighborhood, and it knows you back.

Asheville: routes through some of the prettiest country in North Carolina, and expectations set to match it — mountain routes are never held to a suburban pace, because targets here are terrain-adjusted on purpose. Drivers who learn these roads take real pride in them, and we back that up with training and support.

What we ask

What a normal day looks like

  1. Arrive at the terminal at 8:00 a.m. and check in with your manager.
  2. Inspect your truck and load your packages — organized so the route unloads itself.
  3. Review the day's route and roll out.
  4. Deliver and pick up through your neighborhood — 80–120 stops on a typical day.
  5. Head back, turn in the truck and equipment.
  6. Done when the route's done — efficient drivers finish sooner.

80–120 stops a day, in a neighborhood you get to know by name.

We'll be straight with you: there's weather, stairs, the occasional dog, heavy boxes, and busier weeks around the holidays. Drivers who like being outside, staying in motion, and running their own day tend to love this job.

How hiring works

No mystery and no black hole — six steps, and you'll know where you stand at every one:

Call or text us → phone conversation → ride-along day → screening (DOT physical & drug test, we arrange) → paid training → your route
